Mercedarian Consecration-Mission
and the challenges of a synodal Church in postmodernity

ORDER OF MERCY - GENERAL CHAPTER - Rome 2022

TRANSLATION

Report day 5:

A new day for the Chapter Fathers, which began by giving thanks to God in the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr. Mario Salas Becerra, Provincial Superior, and the Province delegates: Fr. Carlos Munoz and Fr. Ramon Villagran of the Province of Chile.

From the Word of God, the invitation was to understand and deepen our journey, in the certainty that it is the Lord Jesus who guides and governs the direction of the community. It is He who feeds our life and quenches our thirst—not simply good human planning.

Already steeped in the work of the chapter in the morning, a fraternal reflection was given on the life and experience of Mercedarians today.

In the afternoon, we did group work by commissions, in designated subject areas. The groups looked at the document Instrumentum Laboris "Consecration - Mercedarian mission and the challenges of the synodal church in postmodernity", in order to look at the future that requires significant and hopeful decisions for the community.
