ORDER OF MERCY - GENERAL CHAPTER - Rome 2022

TRANSLATION

May 4

On this fourth day of the General Chapter the Mercedarian Province of Peru presided over the Eucharist, where the liturgical celebration of the Feast of Saints Phillip and James was a source of encouragement at the beginning of the day, inviting us to live our discipleship in the footsteps of our Lord Jesus: "The Way, the Truth and the Life" for all of us.

The chapter’s work continued with hearing from the Mercedarian provinces of Mexico and Brazil, completing the review of Mercedarian service throughout the world. This phase closed with the words of our Master General, who invited us to ponder, with joy and gratitude to God, what our Order is experiencing in different parts of the world.

In the afternoon we took another step, delving into the evaluation of the Program for the six-year term or 2016-2022. This task was carried out in four work groups according to the following areas: 1) Religious life; 2) Vocations, Formation and Studies; 3) Pastoral Life; Animation, and 4) Economy.

We thank God for the prayers that our communities everywhere continue to offer for the good of this communitarian occasion and we continue to implore God to fill us with his Holy Spirit, who leads us to live redemptive service with joy.
