ORDER OF MERCY - GENERAL CHAPTER - Rome 2022

Translation:

April 30, 2022

Today we inaugurated our XVII General Chapter, which began with the celebration of the Eucharist, presided over by Cardinal Mons. Joao Braz de Aviz, Prefect for the Congregation of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, concelebrated by all our Capitular Fathers from different parts of the world where our Order is present.

The Inaugural Session began in the afternoon, where all the religious professed the oath according to the ritual and asking God to assist us with His Holy Spirit, so that seeking His will, we accomplish in our lives the will of his Mother: “Do whatever He tells you." The day ended with the Memorial report of the Master General Fr. Juan Carlos Saavedra Lucho O. de M., who invited us to live in the perspective of looking toward the future, anchored in that challenging search for what God asks of us today.

We ask everyone to assist us and support us with their prayer. May God permit us to carry on this work of yours.

On behalf of the St. Raymond Nonnatus Foundation for Freedom, Family, and Faith we send our heartfelt prayer to the Mercedarian Order at General Chapter in Rome on this day and during the next few weeks. Thank you to all of you Fathers and Brothers for your vocations and for living out the Mercedarian charism to make outreach those in danger of losing their faith. God bless you always.
